Maybe he can start to see the extraordinary freedom Americans enjoy and can see their individualism as they stand up and tell their PRESIDENT that they disagree with him.

Maybe he can see somestates like Texas and Montana and Louisiana doing some what better with their conservative philosophies.

And there is that gal with her shotgun or hunting bow who is just as rough and ready as our homesteading forefathers. These are americans of every stripe and flavor. Obviously campaign stints where you are idolized arnt really representative of America.


Maybe it's an America from Sea to shiny Sea that he didnt understand. Maybe the first six months has been a mistake as he succummed to Pelosi, Franks, Dodd and Reid. Anyone can see how shallow and mealy mouthed these people are AND HOW HATEFUL.

Does Obama really want to wear their colors? Do we want to build an elitest autocracy that is entrenched in power by organizations like ACORN. Do we want to install a government on the people that they dont want? Are you commited to a anarchist group like ACORN, Did you really want to steal GM and Chrysler from the lawful owners and give it to Unions? Are you really so entrenched in socialist anti American doctrine that you want to see us a socialist nationalist country?

The country is not liberal/progressive. It is conservative/centrist. Right now the conservatives and centrists are under represented because they elected Obama. But still the conservatives have exercized power on the town halls without adequate represetation.

We have had lousy governance from both sides of the political spectrum. The conservatives and centrists will now backlash by throwing out dome libs. Hopefully the worse of the elitest lib/progressives will go.

Maybe now Obama can get it. If he tries to be truly who those who elected him hoped he would be, if he throws aside the move ons and special interests and serves the people he could be the greatest president ever in our history. I believe the president is an actor. He is playing a role. Now it is about incentives. If he is incentivised to be the best, most loved president in American history he can shed this first six months of empowering Pelosi, Franks, Reid and Dodd. A real effort to do the right thing could be a game changer.

Build America, make provisions and efforts for plentiful and cheap energy, natural gas and Nuclear for next 20 years should be good enough for greenies. Reducing cost of energy will fuel an economic recovery. Make sure whatever Oil we do use is produced here. If we cap oil use but produce it here such as in Ca and Fl those states will become solvent. Remember when libs said we were lying about China and Russia drilling 40 miles off our shores, well now it's happening.

Real economic recovery can be had by building zones like Du Bai has with taxes and assistance to developement. It would be fun to see businesses returning to USA.

You'll do a lot better at re-distributing wealth if there is a lot of it.

I am diabetic, I see a doctor every 3 months. WHAT DOES THE PRESIDENT THINK HAPPENS when I see a doctor? My current primary care physician father was diabetic, he went through amputations. Mt doctor constantly urges me toward healthier lifestyles. He lectures me on dangers of being over weight, infections and possible amputations, eye deterioration kidneys etc.

He doesn't need a government mandate to do this. I now have seen a kidney specialist, he spoke to me in length about life style, limiting salt from my diet and other issues such as exercise. At their recommendations I bought an exercise machine and a WI Machine and a WI Fit program. This president is creating a bogus issue that doesn't exist, in my case, doctors council on preventative measures constantly. I am left wiyh deciding our president is mis informed or lying. Which do you think it is? WHAT DOES YOUR DOCTOR DO?

Reporting from Washington - A Senate panel has decided to scrap the part of its healthcare bill that in recent days has given rise to fears of government "death panels," with one lawmaker suggesting the proposal was just too confusing.

The Senate Finance Committee is taking the idea of advance care planning consultations with doctors off the table as it works to craft its version of healthcare legislation, a Democratic committee aide said Thursday.

Sen. Charles E. Grassley of Iowa, ranking Republican on the committee, said the panel dropped the idea because it could be "misinterpreted or implemented incorrectly."

For Democrats, the decision was an apparent acknowledgment that the provision had become a lightning rod for critics of a proposed overhaul of the U.S. healthcare system. Democratic lawmakers and President Obama are trying to extend health insurance to more people, rein in health costs and make other changes.

Recently, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin speculated that Obama and other Democrats wanted to set up "death panels" to decide who gets medical services and who does not.

In reality, the provision was designed to allow Medicare to pay doctors who counsel patients about planning for end-of-life decisions. The consultations would be voluntary and would provide information about living wills, healthcare proxies, pain medication and hospice.

August 12th was my birthday and I spent all day furious at Obama for his comments. I sent this article to everyone I could think of and posted it all over the Web.

I am diabetic and I was horribly emotionally impacted by the presidents comments. It is my 67th birthday, and every time I go to my primary care physician he urges me to do better with weight, diet and the dangers of infection, gangrene and amputation.

I tried to put my mind around this thing with the president, to somehow understand what kind of person we have as president, I have failed to find any redeeming qualities. I cannot believe he is speaking to the citizens of this country in this manner. He thinks he is in Chicago where anything goes as long as you pay off the teachers and the unions.

Every time he opens his mouth he twists reality and I just don't know how we will survive him and his crew. Why doesn't he produce a list of these doctors and prosecute them?

The things he says isn't appropriate for anyone to say, coming from our president it is embarrassing, tawdry and so low class it is unimaginable why he isn't told to just shut up. His nonsense is emboldening all his cronies like Franks and Pelosi to the point this total government is a parody.

I doubt if anything I've seen covers the whole cost, Ive read reports and they are very vague, but what imbecile thinks mal-practice insurance is the only issue with health-care tort reform?

Tort reform should include generous limits but not atrocious amounts, and lawyers fees and limits should be limited in all areas of public interest where the public ends up footing the bill, such as police negligence. Why should the attourney "partner" with the vistim? If he takes case without fee unless settlement a reasonable bonus can be applied.

Lets just solve the issues NOTHING MORE

Remember all the charitable donations to medical care? Remember all of the religiously sponsored hospitals and heqlth care efforts? How long before the LIBS protest payments from the PUBLIC system to religious organizations?

1. A government pool for non-insurables, (previous conditions, birth defects) underwritten proportionately by all insurance companies with a premium tax.

2. All persons who can afford it must have at least catastrophic insurance, so that bankruptcy and other burdens are avoided. A catastrophic policy should be recommended by a panel, as to what is legitimate coverage.

3. Tort reform.

4. Raising to 130% of poverty level available for medicaid with esculating premiums.

5. Attack fraud. People on medicaid get requalified every 3 years.

The Stark Reality of the DEATH PANELS

SCENARIO #1

if you have single payer system the government is on the hook for all the health care bills. They will take your money and pay the health care providers. As they expand the rolls to more and more people who don't pay taxes, others will pay more. As more and more taxes are collected for health care it puts pressure on taxes for other purposes, like luxury jets for congress.

As the pressure on taxes and tax payers increase, ways to reduce the bills must be found. There is no way to cut disbursements to ACORN and other liberal necessities, so what can we do?

We start squeezing the Doctors and Hospitals. Over a period of time the system contracts with less doctors and closing shrinking hospitals. This creates a shortage of health care resources. Seeing as there is no private sector,doctors will move to countries where they can make money. AND patience who can afford it will leave or get their health services in a private system if any are left in the world.

When shortages occur rationing will occur, someone will not get the care we currently enjoy. Most likely the elderly but probably everyone as in Canada and Britain.


SCENARIO #2

Public Option Starts with government setting doctors and hospital rates, medicare is already 20% less than private ensure rates, so private insurers are already subsidizing public medicare / medicaid. Now only poverty individuals (medicaid) and retiree's (medicare) are in public system. Once a public option is available to everyone, and if the government continues to squeeze payments or gets even worse, they will for a time be able to offer cheaper insurance premiums. Insurers are making 2% so they wont have very much leeway to match government rates. Any changes to plans causes you to be forced into public option. Eventually, and probably not too long... you will be forced into scenario #1.

Summary

I don't believe Obama or any of his crew are being honest, they want single payer. They probably don't want rationing, but all evidence with such systems is they become bankrupt, doctors leave, hospital close, equipment isn't purchased and care is rationed. Once care is rationed common sense says the burden falls on the elderly.

OH maybe Barney Franks is honest for ONCE, he says this PUBLIC OPTION is best way to get single payer.

Though not mandatory, as some on the right have claimed, the consultations envisioned in Section 1233 aren't quite "purely voluntary," as Rep. Sander M. Levin (D-Mich.) asserts. To me, "purely voluntary" means "not unless the patient requests one." Section 1233, however, lets doctors initiate the chat and gives them an incentive -- money -- to do so. Indeed, that's an incentive to insist.

Patients may refuse without penalty, but many will bow to white-coated authority. Once they're in the meeting, the bill does permit "formulation" of a plug-pulling order right then and there. So when Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.) denies that Section 1233 would "place senior citizens in situations where they feel pressured to sign end-of-life directives that they would not otherwise sign," I don't think he's being realistic

Most of the arguments for health care reform are unwarranted. We do pay more. AND WE GET MORE. Reducing costs would be nice, but there is no evidence we will do that.

So why do libs want to run health care? It puts trillions of dollars thru their hands. It allows government to add thousands of employees to administer it. It will add these employees to union and voting rolls. AND CONTROL. they just seem to want to control everything. The American exceptionalism seems to infuriate them. I think there is ANT DNA in their heritage.

There is no reason to believe Obama has changed from his adamant positions on supporting single payer system. Barney Franks has said this program is a step toward single payer. They feel they can trick the country into single payer, Barney says you cant sell a single payer system but you can cheat and lie to get it.

3...Lying about uninsured, not 50, and probably not 15 million are uninsured and need some assistance.

BUT THESE ARE SERVED AT EMERGENCY ROOMS.

Unless you try hospital in Chicago where Michelle Obama's worked, they re-route emergency room users.

■The Census Bureau estimates that 45.7 million lacked health insurance at any given time in 2007. But fewer lacked coverage for the full year, and more did without for one or more months during the year. All three numbers are likely to be higher for 2008 due to massive job losses.

■Twenty-six percent of the uninsured are eligible for some form of public coverage but do not make use of it, according to The National Institute for Health Care Management Foundation. This is sometimes, but not always, a matter of choice.

■Twenty-one percent of the uninsured are immigrants, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation. But that figure includes both those who are here legally and those who are not. The number of illegal immigrants who are included in the official statistics is unknown.

■Twenty percent of the uninsured have family incomes of greater than $75,000 per year, according to the Census Bureau. But this does not necessarily mean they have access to insurance. Even higher-income jobs don’t always offer employer-sponsored insurance, and not everyone who wants private insurance is able to get it.

■Forty percent of the uninsured are young, according to KFF. But speculation that they pass up insurance because of their good health is unjustified. KFF reports that many young people lack insurance because it’s not available to them, and people who turn down available insurance tend to be in worse health, not better, according to the Institute of Medicine

When your doctor is overly zealous in caring for you

Letting your Doctor know that the government statistics dosnt agree with his reccomended treatment, OH WELL THAT SOUNDS REASONABLE!! Certainly this dosnt intrude inthe doctor patient relationship. It does assume that your doctor is incompetent and overly zealous in caring for you. I assume incompetent Doctors would get paid less, like teachers YES, NO?

You can do your share for the collective and go home and take your pain pill.
